The 1-year-old poodle is a local star in Chengdu, Sichuan province, after astonishing footage of him wearing a dress and carrying a backpack went viral, Shanghaiist reported.
His owner Zhu Tai said it took just two months to train the pup in the art of how to appear human.
And the 43-year-old claimed that his beloved dog actually thinks he’s a person now.
“He can go about (one mile) on his back legs without needing to come down on all fours,” the professional dog trainer said.
The chic canine has become a Web sensation after video of him walking down the street went viral.
But critics slammed the stunt and warned that the hound could eventually suffer physical issues if he continued.
“What these people need is a doll, not a dog,” the UK director of Peta, Mimi Bekhechi, told Metro.
“Dogs do not naturally walk on their hind legs — and certainly not for long distances, because it can be uncomfortable and cause them physical problems,” Bekhechi added.
